1) YouTube Shorts will be the social media channel that grows the most

However, this will come amid continuing rising tension between major social platforms (Meta / IG / Threads, X, TikTok) and creators.

These platforms need creators to produce the very content necessary for their sites to exist.

Yet they punish creators (by limiting visibility for links, rewarding trash content that pays, etc) or make them pay (X premium subscriptions) to produce the very content needed.

This tension will heighten next year, pointing to looming growth issues with the current players in the space.

This also indicates an opportunity for a new platform to disrupt.

2) New avenues for advertising

Influencer marketing will continue to expand.

Yes, the cynicism around the lack of transparency and honesty of large influencers has grown and we’ll see less partnerships & campaigns featuring them.
