What does it mean to share our truth?

Truth — in one sense — implies something absolute, the opposite of the infinite spectrum and degree of lies that can be told.

On the other hand, truth is not absolute. What may be true for one, may not be for another. Our understanding of our truths evolve as we do.

The way I understand it now for myself — at this particular moment in time — is that our truth exists in a realm of both the individual and the collective.

Thus, the fascinating tension between the words — my truth, our truth.

When we speak honestly of our lived experiences and bring to life our personal understanding of human existence, it ultimately translates into something more than just about ourselves.

The power of our expression extends and vibrates beyond our ego, the limits of our own being.

Therein lies the difficulty.

Sometimes, others may not be able to accept, understand, or receive that truth.

The pain lies not simply in the dismissal of who we are, but in the lack of understanding for our humanity.
